The North Texas Municipal Water District (NTMWD) Board of Directors voted on Jan. 26 to remain in Stage 3 of the Water Conservation and Drought Contingency/Water Emergency Response Plan. This extension allows for a continuation of twice-a-month landscape watering through May 31. As of Feb. 3, Lake Lavon was at 486.70 feet. Full capacity is 492 feet. Under the Stage 3 restrictions, Allen residents may water on only two specific days per month. To reduce the chance of watering on the wrong day, the city recommends that residents keep irrIgation controllers off and use them in the manual mode on the two allowed days each month. Daytime watering (10 a.m.-6 p.m.), not allowed under Stage 2, is permitted on the designated water days through May.
