STARCREEK RESIDENTS CAN HELP FAMILIES IN NEED
Posted on Apr 1, 2013

StarCreek residents are invited to join their neighbors who volunteer regularly at Allen Community Outreach.  Opened in 1985, Allen Community Outreach (ACO) has helped families living in Allen, Fairview and Lucas to rebuild their lives through the many services provided. ACO is a non-profit organization. The majority of funding for the agency comes from local, individual donations and fund raising activities.

If you are interested in volunteering with ACO or want to know more about the services ACO provides to families in need and how you can help, the Meet and Greet is for you. The short session is a chance to meet ACO staff, tour facilities and find the area you'd like to serve. Next Meet and Greet sessions, which are at the ACO Outreach Center, Volunteer Services/ Meals-On-Wheels entrance, 801 E. Main St., will be held Monday, April 22, at 4:30 p.m.  RSVP to sheila@acocares.org or 972-727-9131.

Volunteers are needed to help with pre-golf tournament work on April 24. Stuff golfer bags or help at the Colin Moran Memorial Golf Tournmanet on April 29. The tournament, sponsored by Two Rows Clicc Grill, benefits Allen Community Outreach. Contact marjorie@acocares.org or visit www.colinmorangolf.com.

Do you love books? Help in the ACO Resale Shop's Book Nook. Thousands of books are donated each year, sorted, shelved and sold at the store. It's the best used book store in town. Many times and days are available for volunteers. Contact gil@acocares.org.

Volunteers are needed in the Allen and Farmersville store and the Treasure Chest to sort items, hang clothes, test appliances, clean donations and stock the sales floor. Stores are open Monday-Saturday. The Treasure Chest on Boyd St. is open the first and third Fridays and Saturdays of the month. Contact gil@acocares.org.
