MIND OUR MANNERS ON THE MESSAGE BOARD
Posted on Apr 2, 2013

The StarCreek Message Board is an Internet resource that allows residents to quickly share information by posting messages. Messages often include questions, statements, information and announcements. In general, residents post messages that contain appropriate and valuable information in a positive, constructive and courteous manner.

Access to the Message Board requires a resident account and password; only residents, and not the public at large, can view and post messages. The Message Board Moderator moderates the Message Board.

Message Board Guidelines
1) Residents must not post messages that contain accusatory, inappropriate, racist, gender-biased, sexually biased statements and questions. Such message posts are subject to removal from the Message Board.
2) Residents must not use strong language and must consider their message prior to posting.
3) Residents must not use messages containing significant sections of text entirely in uppercase.
4) The Message Board is intended to be used by resident owners; please do not allow children to post messages using your account.
5) Note that sometimes, residents post inappropriate, negative and strong statements to the Message Board because the Message Board offers a degree of anonymity and unaccountability. Such behavior will not be tolerated.
6) The ability to post messages, or "write access," to the Message Board is a privilege, not a guaranteed right on demand.
7) Residents must not post “email chain” messages to the Message Board that encourage recipients to forward the same message onward.

Message Board Violations
1) When a resident posts an inappropriate message ("First Offense"), the Message Board Moderator will delete the message post and issue a warning to the message post author explaining the violation.
2) When a resident posts an inappropriate message ("Second Offense"), the Message Board Moderator will delete the message post, issue a warning to the message post author explaining the violation and ban the message author from the posting to the Message Board for a period of 30 days.
3) When a resident posts an inappropriate message ("Third Offense"), the Message Board Moderator will delete the message post, issue a warning to the message
post author explaining the violation and ban the message author from posting to the Message Board indefinitely.
4) The Message Board Moderator will use professional, unbiased discretion when administering the Message Board. The Message Board Moderator has the responsibility and the authority to execute the duties of his/her role.
5) Residents may issue a formal appeal for reinstatement to the Board of Directors.
