Rainstorms can produce gale-force winds that can damage shingles on homes. Missing shingles can cause water to seep through the roof, resulting in severe water damage to ceilings, floors, and walls of the interior of a house. If left unattended, wet wood will attract termites that cause more problems.
After a rainstorm, take a walk around your house to see if any shingles are lying on the ground or in the flowerbeds. Then step away from the house to inspect the roof for any loose or damaged shingles. If in doubt, call a reputable roofing company to inspect the roof for you. Have damaged shingles replaced immediately.
