IT WAS A GREAT INDEPENDENCE DAY
Posted on Jul 24, 2013

Thanks to everyone who helped make this year's Independence Day parade a huge success. The kids did a great job on all the decorations. And our adult volunteers put together a marching band and served up snacks and drinks.

Over 50 children participated in the parade. The StarCreek music ensemble was led by resident Jason Lewis and four talented percussionists, Austin Graham, Steven Schnitzer, Jordan Sipes and George Swain. Calamity the Clown (Karen Carpenter) joined our parade.

Children colored and chose tattoos and glow sticks to celebrate the Fourth, as Calamity made balloon creations for the children. Thanks to our judge, Hunter Chemilli, for selecting our winners:
Best Decorated Bike- Emily Schnitzer
Best Decorated Wagon- Chim family
Best Decorated Scooter- Nathan Crute
Best Decorated Stroller- Spencer and Miles Lewis
Best Decorated Dog- Bailey Karicher

Thanks to Kristine Crute for coordinating the parade. We'll see you on the parade route in 2014. Click here for photos of the event.
